Porto is Gorgeous

Can you imagine the walk we took? Starting from atop the hill, winding down to the river below, and walking along until we discovered an estuary preserve park. Mango is such a wonderful traveler! And I did recently do a session for her and ask her “team” about how much we are walking. We overdid it in Barcelona.

My instructions are 1.5-2 hours walking with 30-60 minute break in the backpack in between. It’s working out really well. After that little break, she’s ready to walk some more. So that is our rhythm. I fold up her little backpack into my Cotopaxi sling and we head out for the day. The sling sits on my back but swings around to my front when she’s on the back. We have water, treats and snacks, Mango’s lunch, collapsible bowls, a towel, a powerbank, a little folded up shopping bag, everything we need.

In the pack, Mango takes naps, looks around my shoulder at where we are going and loves the backpack. She gets right in it! I love discovering the selfies I take after the fact, to discover she was sleeping! Or had her eyes closed because of the sun. But in two above in the estuary park, first one she is looking around, next she is asleep!

You can imagine the delight and smiles from everyone we pass.

The backpack is also great for boarding and getting off trains in particular. The luggage situation with the trains is cumbersome, and I don’t have to worry about her in the crowds or when I’m pulling my luggage down, plus there can be really big gaps between the train and the platform. The backpack is a life saver!

And in general, Mango is bringing comfort and joy to so so so many people. Everywhere we go people need and love to pet her. She gets cooed and adored in all languages. Travelers miss their dogs, people just love dogs, and also, let’s be real… it’s Mango. :)
